Mexican Delight

Mexican delight.

Just how does she do that?
A small illustrated quilt project that everyone can achieve.

A one day class for all levels of experience.

You don’t have to be able to draw, but you have to be able to color between the lines.
Once you’ve done that....
Then I will teach you how to do the quilting stitch.... in fact I will teach you how to draw with the sewing machine.Trust me it’s easy and a new technique.

The drawing represents what I saw as I sat on my balcony in the village of Teotitlan Southern Mexico.

I included the roof tiles on the building opposite the apartment.
The red  things hanging are the pomegranates on the trees in the courtyard. The leaves across the center of the block are from the pomegranate tree.
Then I drew each of the pot plants surrounding my balcony and the cobblestone road below and finally the blue sky with the hills in the distance.

Requirements.
1 X 14” square of Warm and natural cotton batting. (or similar)
2 X 14” squares of light colored non patterned fabric that can be seen through. (you need to trace a small image on the fabric.)

A portable light box would be an advantage.
1 set of Derwent colour soft pencils or something similar.

1 reel  YLI smoke monofilament
1 reel mid grey 50 weight cotton.
1 reel  thread to match the color of the fabric you’ve chosen.

Now just how do we do this quilt
